Privacy Policy
What KeyGenerators collects, what stays on your device, and why the values you generate never reach us.
Last updated: 12 October 2026.
The short version
Passwords, keys and other values you generate on this site are created in your browser and are never sent to us or anyone else. If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit and which tools they use. There are no accounts, and we do not sell personal data.
What is generated and where
All generators run on your device using your browser’s Web Crypto API. Generated values exist only in the page’s memory and are discarded when you close or refresh the page. We cannot see them, store them or recover them.
What is stored on your device
The site saves a few preferences in your browser’s local storage so they persist between visits:
kg-theme: your light or dark mode choice.kg-boardandkg-board-per: which generators are on your home page board, and how many values each card shows.kg-quick: the last quick generator you selected.kg-optandkg-countentries: options and counts you changed on individual generator pages.kg-consent: whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies, and when.
None of these contain generated values. You can delete them at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings.
Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 to measure visits, but only if you choose Accept in the cookie banner. Until then, Google’s analytics script is not loaded at all, so Google receives nothing from your visit and no analytics cookies are set.
If you accept, Google Analytics receives information such as the page address and title, the referring site, your browser and device type, screen size, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. It sets first-party cookies, named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID, to tell repeat visits apart. It never receives the passwords, keys or other values you generate, or anything you type into the tools. Google describes how it handles this data in its own privacy policy.
You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. If you decline after accepting, the site removes the Google Analytics cookies from your browser. Your choice is remembered for 12 months, after which we ask again.
Apart from the analytics cookies above, the site sets no cookies for visitors. If you sign in to the site’s administration area, WordPress sets the cookies needed for that session.
Contact form
When you send a message through the contact page, we receive your name, email address, the topic you choose and your message. It is stored in our website’s database and emailed to us so we can reply. We use it only to answer you, and delete it once it is no longer needed. To limit spam, we also keep a scrambled, non-reversible form of your IP address for one hour.
Information our server receives
Like any website, our web server receives standard technical information when your browser requests a page, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested. Our hosting provider may keep these logs for a limited time for security and troubleshooting. We do not use them to identify or track visitors.
Cloudflare
The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which protects it from attacks and makes pages load faster. To do that, Cloudflare processes the technical details of each request, such as your IP address. Cloudflare also provides Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookie-free count of page loads and loading speed that does not identify you or follow you to other sites. Cloudflare’s own privacy policy applies to this processing.
Third parties
Fonts and the generator scripts are served from this site. Three third parties can be involved. Cloudflare, on every page, as described above. Google, for analytics, only after you accept. And Have I Been Pwned, but only when you press the breach check button on the password strength checker: it receives just the first five characters of the password’s SHA-1 hash, never the password, and its own privacy policy applies to that request.
Changes
If we change how the site handles data, for example by adding advertising, we will update this page before the change takes effect.
